Enneagram - where?

turvey-winter.jpgThe Enneagram workshop weekends I am involved in are run in the United Kingdom by Turvey Abbey Community in Bedfordshire. I teach with two others: one is a member of Turvey community; the other is a teacher and writer.

The Abbey is home to nuns and monks of the Benedictine Order, and this setting provides an extra dimension of peace and structure to our Enneagram teaching. You are very welcome to attend the services in Chapel, whether you are a Christian or not. If you prefer, you can use these times for a bit of peace, quiet and space.

Our workshops cater for a maximum of 15 to 20 people. We structure the weekends to fit into the balance of the monastic timetable, allowing time for silence and reflection in the beautiful rural village environment.

Turvey village is around 60 miles north of London. It has its own extensive gardens and woodland and you can take walks into the countryside direct from the grounds. People are sometimes nervous coming to a monastery for the first time, but the community welcomes people of many faiths or none, and will soon put you at ease.

Comfortable guest accommodation is provided in a converted stable block and other buildings near the main Abbey. You can find out more about Enneagram courses at Turvey, and dates, here. (Next year’s programme is usually available in Autumn. However if you’re interested, you can put your name down in advance for the introductory weekend, held in early Spring. It gets booked up very quickly.)

Sometimes people learn about the Enneagram by reading, and there are many excellent books available, some of which are listed in my bookstore. However our feedback always reflects the value of ‘live learning’ with others. People say this brings the system alive for them in a way that no book ever has.
