Thank you, claire! Here’s a funny thing – When I first started working on this goal, I was just starting to take daily walks over to a church in my neighborhood that has a statue of St. Clare in the courtyard, to which I’m very drawn. I looked her up online and discovered that she’s the patron saint of laundry workers!

And blessings on your dream – that sounds like a wonderful thing to work on.

What a neat, neat idea, Pollinatrix!
To follow the example given here, As Pollinatrix herself wishes, I wish her also.
I was looking at Becky Beckman’s website, The Dancing Word, today and realized that I would like to facilitate the coming of women retreat givers and women liturgical dancers in France & Switzerland. But I need to think more of this.

I have so many dreams, it’s sometimes hard to pick one to focus on, one I actually have the chance to make happen in my real life circumstances.

The one I’m choosing to mention here is opening a laundromat. Being a person who’s used laundromats most of my adult life, and who despises the only one that’s available to me right now, I want to create one that is sustainable and pleasant, with Wi-Fi, a kids’ area, a small snack bar, and an outdoor seating area.

The only thing I’m lacking is money. My goal is to get involved with members of the Taos Entrepreneurial Network and the Chamber of Commerce and find a partner who can help with the financing.

Hi Tess,

Thanks for the link. Yes – it does seem that I have built a business out of images and leadership. It’s been something that I have pursued for a while and it feels very ‘right’ for me. The ‘business plan’ for my dream was to do what I loved, with people that I liked and trust that I would sometimes get paid! OK, my bank manager wasn’t too keen but it has kept me and the family fed and watered for the past 5 years and… 2010 looks better than ever.

Keep articulating that dream – you will make it come true…;-))

@Lucy: I can feel more and more from your writing that you are indeed living your dream. Or should I say loving it.
@kigen: there’s no “it”, there are “some” possibilities. My task is to discern which are momentary enthusiasms (a theme with me…) and which have depth. Then think them through. I thought that putting the intention out here on my blog would hold me to account.
@Sara and @Tim: welcome to my blog and thanks for your comments. You’re right, Tim, it’s the tradeoffs that will be fun.
@Catrien: every year I feel guilty because I don’t dig up all the dandelions in my garden before they go to seed, which probably gives my neighbours much more work. But I think the flowers and seedheads are so pretty.
