I was really delighted to find out the other day that one of my favourite bloggers, Epiphany Girl, has returned from hibernation, complete with a little bundle of gorgeousness called Moira. Epiphany Girl is already building up some very interesting new posts, and she has tagged me in this “Bible in five statements” meme. Here’s what it involves:
Summarise the Bible in five statements, the first one word long, the second two, the third three, the fourth four and the last five words long. Or possibly you could do this in descending order. Tag five people.
Rarely one to resist a challenge (although the idea seems a bit like those manic performances of compressed Shakespeare plays, and surely a statement cannot be only one word), here is what I’ve come up with:
Creation
Lives forever
Alpha and omega
In myth and parable
Infinite history, song and poetry
So who to tag? I think I’ll go for Claire, Sue, Towanda, Sunrise Sister and Country Parson. And anyone else who’s interested. Do have a go if you want to, in the comments here or on your own blog (in which case leave us a link). This was challenging!

Barbara is writing a series of meditations on the O Antiphons, the latest of which you will find here. They are thought-provoking and beautiful. And the photograph of a radiant Blisschick here is well worth looking at, as well as reading her words.

Simply wonderful, Tess. And thanks so much for the welcome back. It is good to be writing again, albeit hard to keep up. Typing with one hand is always a challenge, but that is just part of getting through life with a Moira in my lap.
Sweetest Christmas blessings to you and yours.
Marisa
What fun! I can’t resist this sort of thing, so here’s my go:
Oh.
It is.
We must learn.
God loves and teaches.
Redemptive love (re)creates the world.
By the way, one of my blogging friends recently posted that the word for a one-word sentence is “monepic.” I love that.
Marisa: well the sooner Moira learns to type, the sooner she can start a blog of her own!
Pollinatrix: I love your “go”. And thank you and your blogging friend for this new word, it’s great.
Tess, You are so kind to refer to my “radiant” photo. Made me giggle to see that.
Blessings, beauty, bounty, and bliss to you!
Great list Tess, you synthesized the power of sacred text so beautifully. Christmas blessings to you! Christine
Blisschick: all those things back at you.
Christine: looking forward so much to the course in a couple of weeks.
Tess, thank you for tagging me. I will pass it on
