It’s a very special full moon tonight, the Harvest Moon, and the latest full moon dreamboards are being hosted over at Jamie Ridler Studios. Jamie suggested an “earth” theme this month, especially timely as it is the feast day of someone who would no doubt today be known as a eco-warrior and vilified in the tabloid press, St. Francis of Assisi.
I made the collage above to reflect both the abundance of the earth and that we are part of her bounty, not separate from it (I’ve tried to make the human figures “grow” out of the globe of the earth). It’s my dream we should all understand that we are one living organism.

Do go on over to see all the wonderful dreamboards at Jamie’s site. And talking of St Francis, if you haven’t done so already, you could do a lot worse than sign up here for daily meditations by Franciscan priest Richard Rohr.
Finally, I can’t resist putting up this video today (the last minute or so is skippable):

gotta love a dreamboard that comes with a soundtrack
thanx for the link to daily Rohr
Oooohhh… This made me cry. I almost clicked away thinking “6 minutes! too long”. My husband and I went out together to a party last night and walked home holding hands under the full moon. We celebrated our 22nd anniversary in Sept.
I’m happy I decided to stay. Thank you.
I love that song!
May your harvest dreams come true.
Hi Tess, I love your dream board. You are very creative. I also have a daughter named Tessa. So your name is special for me too. I wish you all the abundance the earth can provide. And as you wish may we all be one. Thanks for stopping by.
Tess, the collage is gorgeous. The effect of a grey 3D shadow plays two roles I think, and which I notice for the first time, and that is the intensifying of the color against the gray as well as the fun of real-unreal 3D. I don’t know how to do digital collage so it all seems wonderfully mysterious in technique as well as content. I like the receding background with the back of the figures facing us. Collage is all paradox! I love it.
Kel, Janet, Laura, thanks for your comments, glad the song was a success and Janet, what a lovely story. I edited the post slightly to indicate the song finishes before the end of the clip.
Grammy, glad to hear I share a name with someone so special. Thanks for your comment and your compliment.
kigen, ah well this is kind of a double-bluff because the collage itself is real, physical, not digital. However once I photographed it I used Photoshop to strip out the existing background (my floor!) and substituted the 3D shadow. A graphic designer friend showed me how to do these shadow effects and I love them!
Oh, thank you for the music. The dreamboard is beautiful it just sort of takes you away when you look at it – the longer you look the more it captures you.
Your dreamboard is stellar! I just love it and the music too. Someday, I hope to find a man who would feel that way about me! Lovely!
Tess, I knew better, actually, but a little lazy in my terms, sorry. Do you agree with my calling it photomontage? It seems to fit the wikipedia description, even including the final photo, where you turn it into a seamless image.
Lovely board and dream – may we all understand our Oneness!
Happy to be celebrating Harvest Moon Dreams with you. Your post and dream board are lovely! Love the music too. May all your dreams come true~
Your beautiful dreamboard is so evocative and imaginative! I love the dreamy moon face! The music so perfect too!
May your dreams come true!
Wow. Your collage is just … stunning. I can’t stop staring at it. I love the Neil Young song, but even more than that I love St. Francis. I didn’t realize it was his day. (You’re right; he’d be considered quite the radical nowdays!)
May your Full Moon bring the bounty of Earth into your life…
(love your dreamboard and words – you may be interested in a group that I organise at Full Moon – Earth Healers – see my blog for details)
Loving your creation this full moon.
It is simple and complex and stunning and
I’m sending you my blessings for abundance
How beautiful, Tess! Truly. And what a treat to share Neil Young’s song. Thank you!
May all your dreams come true.
That song has such a laidback, comfortable Canadian feel about it. I could just picture a couple by a lake, maybe in a canoe, looking up at the moon and stars.
And I agree that the dreamboard is gorgeous! I have never tried collage to that extent.
Your dream board is a work of art! Fantastic to have music to listen to while looking through!
Thanks so much to everyone for these comments, I’m really happy that the music (which I included as a bit of an afterthought) has meant so much to people, as well as your kind comments about my dream board.
What a beautiful dreamboard, filled to the brim with wisdom. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your dreamboard and the song, both are beautiful.
fabulous dream board and i am loving the rohr series on st. francis! xoxo
A lovely harvest moon dreamboard. And, of course the soundtrack I love. [Neil Young grew up in my hometown ~ :^)].
I have been getting Richard Rohr’s daily meditations via email for quite awhile ~ I love these nuggets of wisdom.
Futher to your question … I use a Sony Cybershots camera … a simple camera, but I plan to get a better one, soon ~ not before I get a Holga, tho’!
I adore your collage. It’s stunning. What an elemental and powerful dreamboard! May you wishes come true
Powerful images and a powerful wish – may the Harvest Moon illuminate us to the knowledge that we are one!
Wow, what a lovely image and a fantastic medium to use… It really reflects the kind and generative message.. I am inspired and impressed! I’ve just been on to Jamie’s website and they are all fantastic – a lovely visual way to bring our thoughts and feelings to the fore.
Meanwhile… following your last mention, I have just posted another Crazy Red Bus for you on Photo-Dialogue!

I’m really pleased this dreamboard/music combination has had such a positive response. Thank you all.
Thank you for stopping by my dreamboard. I love the 3D effect in yours, and love the combination with a soundtrack
