wishcasting-150It’s Wishcasting Wednesday at Jamie Ridler Studios. Her prompt this week is “What do you wish to share”.

I wish to share with you that it’s my birthday today (56). I’m very happy to have had a wonderful year, and I’m grateful to all of you who read this blog, comment on it and make me feel I’m part of a worldwide community of intelligent and warm people.

I also wish to share that in this next year of my life, my intention is to improve my writing skills, whether here or elsewhere or both.

Meanwhile, do feel free to wish me a happy birthday in the comments. (Talk about your heavy-handed hints!!)

Hi Tess,

Happy Birthday and many happy returns of the day!

Tell me more about this interfaith group, this might be very interesting.
And I must read that “Are we too polite!”-thing and honestly the answer is NO NOT AT ALL!
I wish all Americans could visit a German blog for one day, it’s so amazing and the stricing difference, you can’t be too polite. (ahem, I must read this first),
Best LaWendula

How can I resist the request to wish you a happy birthday? I can’t! Have a very happy birthday, Tess. And thank you for making Anchors and Masts a lovely place to visit.

I’m sure that you will continue to grow in spirit and skill through the coming year.

and again, Happy Birthday, dear Tess!

As Henri Nouwen wrote in his book “Here and Now” (and I may have written for Lucy’s birthday … but it does bear repeating!):

“I think it is more important to celebrate a birthday than a successful exam, a promotion, or a victory. Because to celebrate a birthday means to say to someone: ‘Thank yuo for being you.’ Celebrating a birthday is exalting life and being glad for it. On a birthday we do not say: ‘Thanks for what you did, or said, or accomplished.’ No, we say: ‘Thank you for being born and being among us.’”

Thank you for being born and being among us, Tess!

Birthday hugs!

(Intrigued by LaWendula’s comment about German blogs – must read some and see how they differ. Recommendations welcoome).

Enjoy life’s journey. xx

Wow, you guys are great, thank you SO much! Virtual singing, quotes, even poetry. Discussions about the difference between blogs from different countries, and wishes from real life and virtual friends. What more could I wish for! Off to bed now, I’ve had a lovely day.
