kigen, thank you so much for this quote from alice, which I’d forgotten. I think I’ll read her again soon. I love the last bit about not dropping the jar – it seems simultaneously kindly and mad. By the way, one of my favourite old songs is White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane (Grace Slick’s voice was transcendent!).

Thanks guys, yes I’ve loved fantasy books since I picked up my first fairy tale. The DVDs and movies are a more recently acquired taste. For years I thought Buffy was just some rubbish for teenagers – no longer!

A great list, Tess. Three are familiar to me (yes, I agree with the award) and the other 4, well I’ll definitely check them out based on your recommendation. Sally Lever’s site is new to me, too, so I’ll be exploring it. Thank goodness I’m on vacation — more time for reading.

As for your list of 7 things you love — not too many surprises here, which goes to show I’ve been reading you for a while. OK, #6 & #7 are news to me. You have such varied interests! But that’s not a surprise either.
