OK, so I know it looks a little like a squashed meringue cake, but this is my dreamboard for May’s full moon.
I’m a little late posting because I haven’t been around for a few days, but this is part of the monthly dreamboard party hosted at Jamie’s place.
The morning pages I’ve been writing recently (part of Julia Cameron’s Artist’s Way course) have begun to revitalise my creative impulses.
There is fantastic inspiration and connection on the web with artists of all sorts, but I’ve realised recently that’s only part of the story. One of the things writing my morning pages has shown me is the need for some real-life interaction with other artists and craftspeople.
That was going through my mind when I made this dreamboard. I wanted to set my intention to “cast an artists’ circle”: to meet up regularly with people near where I live who are trying to live a creative life. I don’t know what that will look like, perhaps as simple as a writer’s group, perhaps more complex, but the thought is out there now.
(Interesting how my inner censor wanted to write some sarcastic disclaimer after the phrase “trying to live a creative life” in the last paragraph. How do I dare count myself among such people? Well bugger off, inner censor!)
There are some great dreamboards over at Starshyne Productions – why not take a look.

“bugger off, inner censor.”
can i borrow that line sometime?
Towanda: with pleasure!!
May your casting of creative wishes come to be — and even more miracles than can be imagine now! Here’s to your heARTist self and connecting with other heARTists, too! k-
What a beautiful dreamboard – casting your artist circle in the shape of the moon, powerful indeed! Morning pages, dreamboards and intentions have a way of changing things for the better! May all of these glorious wishes find their way to you.
Welcome to dreamboarding! I’m glad you’re here
Jamie
yay yay yay! thanks for pointing us over here.
“bugger off, inner censor”….oh i love it too!
i am so excited for your continued creative awakening and only wished i loved closer so we could start our own little artists’ colony!!!
btw–love you artist’s circle, too!
@Kara: Thanks for visiting and I love your site, will be exploring over the next couple of days.
@Jamie: Thanks so much for hosting the dreamboards, looking forward to the next one.
@Rachel: Always glad to see your comments!
@Lucy: You know I’d be corralling you and Christine if we were all in Seattle.
Oh yeah, get thee behind me inner censor!! I’ve just joined with a group of 5 other artists for our first “session/creative time” together. We’re going to meet quarterly for several hours and we’re not really sure of the agenda but we had a blast creating and yakking and confirming each others’ innate creativity! It was terrific and I know it will be a great group that your magnetism draws into your artist circle! Go for it!
SS: thanks for the comment. Since posting this I’ve discovered that there’s a art/craft studio complex about twenty minutes’ walk from my front door, which is having an open day with workshops and chat with the artists this weekend. I’m going along to explore. Your group sounds so great, exactly what I’m looking for.
Isn’t that the way – we open ourselves to an idea and the answer is as simple as seeing what may have “always been there.” I’ll look forward to hearing the weekend exploration goes.
P.S. I bet you might have heard that Lucy and I will be in Christine’s workshop next week. She and I haven’t had a good visit together in a while so we’re looking forward to all of the possibilities that one of C’s workshops opens to its participants – I think C is in cahoots with the Holy Spirit – quite a team. Wish you were going to be there too!!
