Oh the bliss of hyacinths, wonderful! They remind me of spring, they were the first flower to show up at our home in BC. Filled me with such joy.

@Lucy – you know what they say about curiosity and the cat, don’t you? Nonetheless how can I resist – Kate mentioned in a post a while back how as a child she used to love books with flaps and pockets you could open. I had exactly such a book ready for recycling so off it went to Kate!

Tess I just wanted to let you know that yesterday I recieved the absolutely delightful book that you sent!! You were absolutlely right…I just love it! Thank you so very much for thinking of me and going to all the trouble of mailing it overseas.

I am already panettone-d out for this year! I tried baking my own once, but decided it was easier to buy one. It is a delight with strong coffee and with minimal attention to table manners! BTW, I haven’t got my creche with tiny kung fu warriors up yet. When I do, I will post a photo, I promise.
