A few too many?

A little light relief today, as I can’t resist sharing with you a British news story. As it isn’t April the 1st I can almost guarantee this is not an April Fool joke.

A man in South Wales called the Policy emergency services because he thought he could see a UFO. The transcript of the call goes like this:

Control Room: South Wales Police, what’s your emergency?

Caller: It’s not really. I just need to inform you that across the mountain there’s a bright stationary object.

Control room: Right.

Caller: If you’ve got a couple of minutes perhaps you could find out what it is? It’s been there at least half an hour and it’s still there.

Control: It’s been there for half an hour. Right. Is it actually on the mountain or in the sky?

Caller: It’s in the air.

Control: I will send someone up there now to check it out.

Caller: OK.

The next part of the transcript records what happens after the hapless police officer was sent to investigate the mysterious stationary object:

Control: Alpha Zulu 20, this object in the sky, did anyone have a look at it?

Officer: Yes. It’s the moon… Over.

Just to show I’m not making this up, here’s the story. Ya gotta love it!

I laughed hard at this one. Thanks, Tess. I needed to lighten up some today. :)

Too funny! I have to wonder what recreational chemicals the caller had partaken of prior to his/her worried call to police?!!

Thanks for the laugh! :D

oh this one makes me smile, and really made me smile when i remembered how close to home it hits. when i was sailing in january of ’07 (my first time living on a sailboat), i excitedly called to my mates to tell them that there was a ufo hovering very closely to the top of our craft!!!!! they graciously informed me (while holding back great guffaws) that it was the mast’s lights on OUR boat. she tucks tail between legs and then bursts into fits of laughter :-) :-) :-)

a few too many? perhaps :-)
