A quick update on my post Of the body:
Following lunch today, I am now in the happy position to report that no dessert I’ve ever eaten can beat fresh fig and armagnac ice cream, eaten with appetite and without any guilt in the company of lovely colleagues at a superb but not snobby Italian restaurant in London.
And the sauteed monkfish with clam ragu served with Zucchine Fritte that I had for my main course was not so bad either…
I just wish I’d had my camera with me so I could show you how beautiful it looked before I got outside it. Sigh.

Wow Tess, this sounds mouth wateringly delicious! I am envious, I think…. Nah, I’m just so glad you could enjoy it so much. You go friend!
yum yum!!! one should never leave home without a camera or a journal…at least that’s what i’ve been told
“no guilt” is a lovely state of existence. i’m with hudson, you go girl!!!!
Dang! I started out my comment with YUM – then glanced up and saw that Lucy had just said that. So, how ’bout – me and my body were going for the lemon/olive oil homemade ice cream last night when I was told they were out of it…..well, that should have been a sign, wouldn’ ya think? Nope, I settled for the home made creme fraiche ice cream. Now I have to find where I can find a chef to do fresh fig and armagnac!
Yeh, me and my body were back in the Y this a.m. sweating and groaning but not unhappy we’d had the ice cream:) Thanks for sharing such a great treat !
