Who says popular culture can’t raise important issues?
I'm Tess, and this is my personal blog. In this space I write about some of the things that interest me: spirituality, learning and growth, creativity, ecology, simple living, how we can build community. I try to approach every day intentionally, and aim to have some fun along the way.
If you're new here, I hope you'll stay awhile to explore, and join in the conversations by leaving a comment.

right on, yoda!
Peace Tess,
I’m sure that Master Yoda is actually a Sufi master in disguise!
Abdur Rahman
Oh wise, wise Yoda.
Another Yoda favourite of mine is “Do, or do not, there is no try.”
I loved this. Did you know that we use some of his clips in our classes? Right now we are teaching on emotion and the first thing is to be able to stop and label one’s emotion in order to then deal with it. So many people can’t even do that properly.
So, as for me, what am I afraid of? I think I struggle with fear here and there when it comes to stepping out to do something I’ve never done before and also when it come to provision. Some days I’m full of faith and some days I get fearful. I’ve been working with this for years, so I’m rather in touch with it at this point.
This saying is so true! You can’t deny it or ignore it and have it “go away”. You have to look at it in the face and go through it.
Very True. Thanks for sharing it.
Maya, I’d so love to see the materials you use in your classes, I bet it’s fantastic.
And thanks Yolanda. I liked one of the items from your meme today – to meet bloggie friends before you die. Yes, that would be so cool!
What do I fear? Mostly I fear not doing my share…..for God, for volunteerism, for my family and friends. Fear of not exploiting my potential to the fullest as one of God’s gifted children. The good news is that I believe these fears can be eradicated somewhat. I say somewhat, because we can NEVER give enough to a God that loves us and gifts us just because He wants to do that.
Shoot – God even created Yoda, one way or another……
SS: I think one of God’s greatest creations is the minds that can come up with stories and characters that help us. Like Yoda.
