Invitation to Poetry

Please join in today’s Invitation to Poetry at Abbey of the Arts. This is my contribution:

Full Moon RisingSuch sweet lunacy,
your tidal pull
through my salty blood.

I am liquid being,
boundaries wavering
and thin as light.

Tess, I love the image of being liquid and the “tidal pull through my salty blood” — so luscious!

I love this, too, Tess. Very powerful. I could visualize a current of red blood cells coursing through my veins. Maybe this explains why we so many of us are drawn to the full moon. I know on my 2008 calendar I will be marking each one.

Hi Tess-
I decided to head on over here from Lucy’s blog – and so glad I did. Wonderful words … liquid and light and liquid light seem to be themes for me lately. Now if I could only represent it successfully in a painting!

Thanks everyone, and welcome to the dream. In both senses of the phrase!

Peace Tess

Very nice. Short, powerful with some unusual imagery.
