So Rebecca has tagged me for the 7 Things About Me meme. (Don’t read her bluejay mama story at point 3 without a tissue to hand!)
I’m afraid I’m going to break the rules with this meme: I’m supposed to tag seven other blogs but I’m simply going to invite anyone who’s interested to consider themselves tagged, as Lucy did recently. And I’m going to put a slightly different spin on this by sharing seven facts from my life today:
- I had to put damp socks on because I neglected to dry the laundry.
- My darling favourite cat Jess has very recently started going to the toilet in a corner of the kitchen, so I had to clean that up first thing (hope you’re not eating as you read this). I’m worried she’s getting a bit arthritic in her back legs and is finding it difficult to get out to the garden in time. She’s quite old. A trip to the vet is in order very soon to see if there’s any physical cause. Oh I do so hope she’s OK. And that she stops doing that.
- I had to fight down a panic attack as I walked down a long steep escalator that wasn’t moving. I thought I was going to get stuck and/or slip. The only way I could keep going was to hum a little song that Jen posted the video to here. I swear, the song worked!
- I spent the entire morning in a hot seminar room listening to a man talk through a series of slides containing dense sets of statistics. I managed not to fall asleep.
- I started my lunch-hour with a gap between my teeth that cost a couple of hundred pounds for the extraction. I ended my lunch-hour with a gap between my teeth that has cost (so far) £1,200 (US$2,246), having had the first stage of dental implant surgery. It went well, but I’m feeling sore and exhausted.
- When I got home I found the crate of organic red wine I ordered for Christmas has been delivered. Hmmm, I wonder if it will make it to Christmas…
- I’m about to curl up with a hot water bottle and some pain killers and watch CSI Miami. It’s one of my secret vices (Miami. Vice. Geddit?). The plotlines are so completely absurd, David Caruso is such a hammy actor and the dialogue is so corny that it’s almost good.
So over to you, anyone want to play?

As I take off my sunglasses, give you that look and speak to you in that Caruso-like way, “good job.” Ok, I’m putting on my sunglasses again.
P.S. – hope your Miss Jess is all right. Please keep us posted.
Rebecca, you might want to check out the following post in my other, irreverent, blog:

loved seeing into your current life. hope you and jess both heal nicely and i love the song!!
I too enjoyed this glimpse into your life. I had an image in my mind for each of the seven facts you shared. I hope Tess and Jess had at least seven pleasant things happen to them today.
Tess – I agree about the “bluejay” story from Rebecca….think I’ll play the 7 things today game on my site – see you there.
Happy Thanksgiving even if you don’t officially celebrate it. It’s just as well…it would have been tough doing turkey with the dental work:( Hope you’re feeling better!
