My response to Christine’s latest Invitation to Poetry:
Is the hidden
more valuable
than what is left
in plain sight? Is what lies past
the locked door
more precious
than the door?Sometimes.

I love a poem made up of questions and you say so much in a small space. Even the last word is very evocative.

Yes, a very thoughtful poem. “Sometimes” is the perfect word to end it with. I’m really not sure what time descriptor I would respond with. Not “never”, maybe “rarely”, certainly not “always”.
Thanks, Tess.
I think often we just want to get through the door to see what’s on the other side and then right away we’re bored and looking for new doors.
