It’s been amazing to see the sheer variety of environmental topics people have written about, and today I’ve collected together all the posts from bloggers who took part that I read regularly or semi-regularly. Some are the big ‘A-list’ blogs, some have a more modest readership. Some are in the ‘green’ blogging niche, some never normally write about it. Here they all are, in alphabetical order:
At Barnabus Quotidianus, Barney gives us a thoughtful post with some interesting quotes from a Baha’i perspective on the role of religion in our future
At Bean Sprouts, Melanie encourages us not to become overwhelmed, to look at our local environment and what we can do. She uses a very clever take on Monet’s Le Pont Japonais a Giverny to illustrate her point - see thumbnail right
Beyond the Fields We Know shares trash can art and actually takes real life action on Blog Action Day
At Closely Observed, Elaine treats us to a beautiful quote by Joan Chittister, who talks about a Benedictine’s Heart - I think this might just be my favourite Blog Action Day post
Copyblogger asks us to consider both good and bad possibilities of the butterfly effect
Don’t Eat Alone writes about mistaken evangelical teaching on the environment and about environmental justice issues
Eco Street, whose whole blog is about the environment, spotlights some other writers
At Entrepreneur’s Journey, Yaro writes about the very frightening water supply situation in Australia
Hedgewizard’s Diary with customary irreverence takes the radical approach of actually going out into the environment rather than writing about it
Hippie Sounds gives us an honour roll of green musicians (I love this site - as a bonus check out their other post on Monday and watch Joni Mitchell sing Big Yellow Taxi)
Jen Lemen tells us about her new downloadable art - no need for her to print up advance copies on paper that may never get used
At Let It Shine, Anne talks about her love of the natural world (and see video below also)
The mighty Life Hacker gives us ten readers’ suggestions for greener living
Lighter Footstep tells us there’s one simple secret - consume less. A bit like losing weight, really…
Slow Leadership give us stirring words on the selfishness of individualism and exhort us to, yes, slow down
Take Joy ran out of time so linked to other posts, including mine - thanks Anita - check out her links, and don’t believe her when she couldn’t think of anything to say about the environment: her whole blog reflects her views
Leo at the wonderful Zen Habits is one of the leading lights behind Blog Action Day and his five ways to save the world post doesn’t let us down
I feel so inspired, reading all these thoughts and ideas on how we can save this beautiful planet of ours. I hope I haven’t missed out any of my ‘regulars’.
To finish, although this video was not posted as part of the Blog Action Day, it reflects so beautifully the world of which we are all part. Anne at Let It Shine has taken some of her photographs from the trails she’s walked this summer and shared them with us. Enjoy.

Tess, many thanks for the link. Blog Action Day produced many fascinating posts. I hope the Day continue into the future.
Hi there!
Enjoyed your “after thoughts” for blog action day.
My own contribution was a series of award-winning shorts, animated clips, and reviews of environmental films - like DiCaprio’s 11th Hour.
Check it out!

Kisses for the link love! Blog Action day was such a great event — I’ve read many of these posts but not all so thanks for the list. I’m sure all the ones you picked are super since you do seem to have great taste
Thanks Tess for the link! Thank you also for pulling together all these wonderful blogs… I’ve been meaning to go to the Blog Action Day website and just browse some of them, you’ve done such a nice job of summarizing a number of them!! I loved the Monet painting with the shopping carts… it has an element of surprise which certainly serves to wake us up!
Thanks also for posting my video, so glad you enjoyed it!

What a wonderful Sunday Collection, Tess. My favourite post was the first one I read on October 16th: yours. Tis true.
I read a few of the posts on your list but I’m going to check out the ones that I missed.
Thank you for compiling the list.

Great roundup of Blog Action Day posts, Tess. Thanks for including my link. The painting is by cult British graffitti artist, Banksy.
