A good day

hope.jpgMany, many people find it difficult to hope. Well it’s not unreasonable, really. There are terrible things going on in the world. Part of our nature as human being is warlike. We harbour the potential to do great evil. Religious belief is twisted into something so far removed from light and love that it becomes unrecognisable. Fear invades our lives.

But you know, until the last day, for each of us individually and for the world, the sun will rise, and hope remains. Julian, of course, says it memorably in her most famous words:

All will be well, and all manner of things will be well.

and

He did not say, you will never have a rough passage, you will never be over-strained, you will never feel uncomfortable, but he did say you will never be overcome.

So let’s each of us try to find hope in every new dawn.

I found this meditation on gratefulness for each new day, each good day, beautiful:

Have a blessed week.

Tess, I am listening to and watching the meditation as I write this comment. So beautiful. So necessary. And particularly appropriate for me to reflect upon today as I prepare to leave (within the next 5 minutes) for a 90 minute drive to Mom’s home for Thanksgiving dinner. (It’s Canadian Thanksgiving weekend). Thank you for this gift.

OK, now I will play it one more time before I hit the road.

What a breath of fresh air. A wonderful reminder to live in the moment, and feel gratitude for every breath. Thanks for sharing this.
