Apart from writing, here and in notebooks, I’ve done little with my life recently in the way of creativity.
So I’m really enjoying the creativity challenge set by Magpie Girl. To have the excuse (why on earth did I need one?), to do stuff like fiddle around with matchboxes and bits of wrapping paper is just plain fun.
I remembered for the first time in years that when I was a little girl I was not interested so much in proper dolls you could pick up and play with, but in those cut-out dolls that came with paper clothes you hooked on to the doll. I even used to make my own fashion scenes by cutting out figures from clothes catalogues my mother sent for and sticking them down on card.
Oh the joys of a glue pot!
And there are some wonderful gluey creative things going on in another blog at the moment. Check out Anita’s gorgeous and often slightly weird paint chip swap productions, here, here and here. You’ll be amazed! (Anita, fancy a go at matchbox shrines?)
So if there are any creative urges stirring in you, whether they involve glue pots or not, why not let ‘em rip?
