Creativity challenge

I found a challenge at Abbey of the Arts by Magpie Girl as part of new series on creativity. The first assignment is to alter a photograph.

So take a look at the Flickr Creativity Challenge collection, which includes Christine’s beautiful photograph with Rumi’s words.

Apprentice rock god

My contribution is this digital collage using Photoshop Elements. I made it from a photograph of my teenage nephew S practising on an acoustic guitar, with Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters superimposed in the background. They were the first live band S ever saw, when he was around 13, at Wembley Arena in London. He and I went together. They were amazing.

S has perfect hands for the guitar: long lean fingers, plenty of reach. In fact when I see old film of Hendrix I think how similar their hands are.

love your photo tribute to your nephew and his passion. i am itching to make my own ‘altered photo!’
