Well this is a red-letter day! Kirbanita at Take Joy has given me the “Nice matters” blog award.
If you haven’t visited Take Joy I thoroughly recommend that you do. It’s a wonderful welter (how’s that for pleasing alliteration?) of crafts and quotes, goats and gardening, photography, activism, fun and thoughtful writing.
This is what the award is about:
This award will be given to those that are just nice people, good blog friends and those that inspire good feelings and inspiration! Those that care about others, that are there to lend support, or those that are just a positive influence in our blogging world!
Isn’t that lovely? I’m really pleased.
So now I get to pass on the award, which is the very best part. My choices (in strict alphabetical order) are:
Abbey of the Arts - Christine combines wonderful photography with moving words and a very inclusive approach to her readers.
Chai Time because Maya makes me think, and because she isn’t rigid or narrow in her own thinking. And because she really cares about people, life and faith. Plus she makes great Challah (watch her video)!
Diamonds in the Sky with Lucy for very similar reasons to Christine. Lucy’s writing goes from strength to strength and I often find myself very much in tune with what she’s posting.
Don’t Eat Alone for its poetry, social conscience, down-to-earth faith, and good writing. I always feel (appropriately for the title) that it’s a very hospitable blog.
Northwoods Contemplative because it’s always interesting, often challenging and it helps me learn and grow.
Towanda’s Window for her salty honesty, her self-deprecating humour even when she’s having a really tough time, her thoughtful sermons and even her rather strange obsession with baseball.

Oh wow. Thank you! You have NO IDEA how I needed this today. I had another entire day in the clinic with my father. I go from medical crisis to medical crisis lately. Oy. So thank you for the very kind words. I think this just may help to lift off some of the stress I was carrying earlier. Muah!!! You get a hug and a kiss!

I LOVE your description! A ‘wonderful welter’ is just what I was aiming for: similar to a jumbled antique/secondhand shop full of so much stuff you don’t know where to look first.
Also similar to my house, unfortunately . .

thanks, Tess! I love that, “salty honesty.” I will post up my awards (can I award you back? hmmm) sometime over the weekend…

thank you, tess. i am honored and realize my growth when i can accept an award called “nice”…nice is such a loaded word for me with my southern upbringing as i think i have mentioned before
i am intrigued by your words of me “strength to strength”?
i believe we come to know ourselves as we look in the mirrors of each other. blessings!

Thank you Tess, I am slow to respond because I just returned from my last travels. I am so grateful for your gracious words.

Christine and Lucy, you are both most welcome.
