Still singing and dancing

Found on Towanda’s Window, I reproduce here the quote she uses from a documentary on Simon Wiesenthal:

“A soldier stays on the battlefield” was Wiesenthal’s explanation for staying in inhospitable postwar Vienna. To illustrate his point, Wiesenthal threw a 90th birthday party for himself at the city’s Imperial Hotel, where Hitler wined and dined his friends and plotted the execution of 6 million Jews. “Look, even the chandeliers are shaking,” said Wiesenthal at the dinner. “Hitler is gone. The Nazis are no more. But we are still here, singing and dancing.”

Wonderful.

My heart is steadfast.
I shall sing and raise a psalm.
Awake, my soul.
Awake harp and lyre;
I shall awake at dawn.
I shall praise you among the peoples, Lord.

Ps. 108
