This week’s collection is of art inspired by the living world.
Colouring outside the lines has a wonderful series of pen and ink portrayals of birds: Wren, Junco, Seedeater and Finch.
I loved the image reproduced at Jen Lemen’s site of one of Kelly Rae Roberts’ paintings, a winged woman with a bird perched on one shoulder.
And more winged creatures in this painting of bee keepers and hives, part of a series in the Angry Pirate blog. (Isn’t that a great name for a blog?) Which reminds me of a photograph on Sister Earth that has been up for ages, but is worth linking to here. And read about the bees: a very worrying situation.
Moving from wings to fins, Dreamyfish Art gives us an anemonefish that really is dreamy. Click on the thumbnail so you can see the painting in all its glory.
Still in the ocean, at Circle the Divine, there is a wonderful image of contemplative killer whales Moon Gazing. (Not often you get to write the words contemplative and killer whales in the same sentence.)
We’ve had a lot of water recently: endless rain the last few weeks. This gorgeous photograph from Seeing is a Verb captures just a few of those raindrops.
And finally, talking of weather:
