Two posts from Coming to the Quiet stood out for me this week. First was this quote from Antony’s post Excerpt From a Letter:

You know my life, you know my struggles. You know how my practice of prayer and other spiritual disciplines waxes and wanes. Sometimes it is a flame, and sometimes it barely even exists. And you know all my faults and failings. You know the ugly parts of my soul. I hope you also know how much my heart really does want God… above and beyond and in spite of all else…

This so echoes my own experience. And the flame easily spreads to other parts of our lives. It’s the continual getting up again after failing that is bloody hard work, but I suspect that is where the lasting fire lies.

Anyway, enough of the high-falutin’ analogies, second from Antony was this wonderful cartoon which speaks for itself.

Brokenness: Me speaks of it in her post home coming (part of an ongoing series) and Britt-Arnhild asks What is Perfect?

At Possible Water we read an invitation to consider carefully what it is we really stand for. And sort of related to that is this post from an unusual business blog I read which asks us to consider carefully how we spend our time and what excuses we make.

I was pleased to be introduced to a new (to me) blog by Sherri, who commented helpfully on my post on slavery. I’m reading through it and particularly like her post An Attractive Gospel. It has many echoes for me.

And finally:

Hi Tess, I really loved that post of Britt-Arnhild’s too. I also loved her series that started with “occupation:joymaker”. She sees things so much more deeply than most.

I hope the “nest quest” is unfolding in a healing way. Everything in its own time : )

A Blessed Week : ) Wendy
