I never fail to be excited and moved by how many wonderful people are out there blogging about REAL things. And I’m also aware of an irony in that there are relatively few people in my real life that I feel I can talk to about such nutty stuff as spirituality and creativity. (Maybe some of the people I know feel the same about me, eh?)
One piece that really encouraged me this week was a section from this post by Leah at Finding Water:
If you feel guilty over what you haven’t done, let that go and give yourself credit for what you have done and then get back to it. I know beating myself up can sometimes freeze me in place. There’s no need for that. We’re all human beings here, perfectly imperfect beings. (My italics)
She’s talking here about blogging, but this reaction is so true for me in all kinds of areas.
Two Naomis:
I enjoyed Milton’s post with poetry by Naomi Shihab Nye, and Wendy’s post of 9th March with the image of a book by Naomi Sachs Zion called Shabbat at Home. I’m intending to read both Naomis.
I love the joy and quirkiness of Jen Lemen’s Obsession. And I cherish the absolute realism of this quote about grief from Lucy’s blog.
And finally, on this beautiful spring day, just made for lolloping around in the sunshine, I’m pleased to announce that I’m a golden retriever!

hi tess– i, too, am “aware of an irony in that there are relatively few people in my real life that I feel I can talk to about such nutty stuff as spirituality and creativity.” it feels like its expanding but i am aware of the blank stares i receive occasionally when i burst into a dissertation on the beauty of the light coming through a tree, etc.
i love your sunday collections! i have only read a couple of nye’s poems and have been very taken by both of them. see “kindness” on my 2/4/07 post of you’re interested.
i envy your sunny spring day. it is grey and very windy and a little wet today in seattle.
all the best–
I’m a German Shepard apparently.
Hi Tess, Thanks for the kind mention : )
I’ve shrunk my social circle to those that I can talk to about this kind of stuff–but there’s a price, and that’s that its become a very teeny teeny teeny circle!
Well, Blessed Week : ) Wendy
